Time to pack your bags & GO! But what about your Pond & Fish?
Here are some tips to help ensure that your Pond and your Fish survive your absence in reasonably good shape:
- Provide plenty of Aquatic Plants for your Pond Fish (especially Baby Fish) to hide under from predators and to find shade in sunny Ponds
- Add some floating Pond Plants for the Fish to nibble on should they get hungry
- Use a good Barley product to prevent unsightly stringy growth from taking over your waterfall, rocks and other features. Barley Fusion makes this easy as pie!
- Add plenty of Beneficial Bacteria to prevent ammonia and/or nitrite spikes should your neighbor or friend accidentally overfeed your fish while you are gone
- Plants can be helped to survive temporary water problems like high pH while you are gone with Microbe-Lift Ensure which stimulates root growth and adds vital nutrients
- Use a High Quality Pond Fish Food to leave with neighbors and/or friends who might be feeding your Pond Fish (low quality, cheap Pond Fish Food tends to have more filler, which translates into more fish poopoo because it is not fully digested - this causes water problems)

How (and when) to join EPDM Pond Liner:
Waterfalls, Streams, Bog Gardens and other Features can be added to existing Garden Ponds and Fish Ponds by joining two pieces of Pond Liner together.
Pond Liner Seaming Tape and Liner Prep Kits are available to do this easily. Be sure to clean the area to be joined thoroughly. Do not skimp on joining material and use Lap Sealant as a fail safe after splicing the Pond Liner.
NEVER seam liner inside the Pond itself! |
