New Contest --- Fall Pond Prep Tip --- Fun (Pond) Fact

Fuzzy, unsightly "stuff" tends to grow on and overtake Pond Rocks, Waterfalls, Creeks and sometimes even what plants are still there in the winter. Here is how to clean it and prevent it: Clean existing growth with a fish safe oxygen based cleaner like Restor. Once it is clean enough, prevent new growth by balancing the pH (to within 7.0 - 8.0), adding a good beneficial pond Bacteria that works in cooler temperatures and a Barley Extract. This will help keep the Pond clean and a pleasure to look at all winter (not to mention save a bunch of clean-up time and effort in the spring! |

Fun (Pond) Fact (TM)
Koi and Goldfish do not really hibernate like bears do.
It is a bit of a mis-nomer.
Koi and Goldfish are cold blooded and when the water temperature gets cold, all of their systems slow down which lets them survive.
Bears, on the other hand, are warm blooded mamals and they go into "real" hybernation.
