Many creatures survive the winter on the Pond bottom, among them: frogs, turtles and salamanders.
Some frogs can hibernate either on the Pond Bottom
or burrow on dry land.
Even hibernating creatures on the Pond Bottom need some oxygen. That is another reason why good quality Pond De-Icers are so important.
