This Weather & your Pond...Last Minute Pond Gift...Fun (Pond) Fact

The weather outside is frightful....is your Pond prepared? Lots of rain? Remember that things easily wash into the Pond and rain changes the water chemistry and may dilute any water treatments in the Pond. Test the pH and adjust as needed. Add a Barley product to forestall getting all that stringy growth on rocks and waterfalls from all the additional nutrients entering the Pond.
Cold and Snow? Make sure the outline of the Pond is clearly marked to prevent someone from accidentally walking on a snow covered Pond and falling in. Insure Fish survival by using a de-icer which will let carbon dioxide out and oxygen in! Sweep some areas free of snow to let light into the Pond (do not step on the ice!) |

Unbelievable but true!
That is one of the reasons why some place for them to hide is important (the other is escape from predators).
