Green or black & Square ?? .... Polishing Pond Water...Fun (Pond) Fact
|
|
 |
What is Green or Black and Square in the Pond bottom?
An under water Pond Filter!
These in-expensive little things, which can filter a small Pond all on their own, have a few tricks up their sleeve!
They function wonderfully as Pump Pre-Filters and serve several puposes in that capacity:
1) They catch all those things that would otherwise clog the Pond Pump
2) In combination with Beneficial Bacteria they suck out and get rid of a lot of the waste (a polite name for fish poopoo) that would otherwise turn into sludge on the bottom of the Pond (ever had to drain it and shovel that stuff out??? Hard work!)
3) They prevent tiny critters (such as Pond Fish Eggs and Fry) from being sucked into the Pump. |

Ever wonder why some Ponds just sparkle and some have a dull surface look to them?
In dull looking Ponds tiny, microscopic particles prevent that sparkling effect. What to do?
Easy! Use a Pond Flocculant to bind these tiny particles to each other to make the big enough to sink and be sucked up by the Filter.
Flocculants do not hurt anything in the Pond and are a great and inexpensive way to make the water sparkle.
Your glistening Pond will be the envy of your neighbors! |
