What your Fish & Plants need NOW... Put Dirt in your Pond...Fun (Pond) Fact
|
 |
Your Plants and Fish need a Treat! It has been a long and hard winter. Plants would benefit from a bit of TLC in the form of a liquid Pond Plant Fertilizer (that actually helps with Pond Clarity) and your Pond Fish are more than ready for some extra Vitamins and Minerals . Treats can also be very helpful in teaching the Pond Fish to eat out of your hand (the trick: make as low a silhouette as possible - crouch when feeding treats out of your hand and be patient. Keep the Treats in your fist and release a bit at a time.) At the very least the Treats will give you a chance to observe the fish closely for parasites and disease. If you cannot hand feed, use a feeding ring to keep the food/treats in one place.

Put Dirt in your Pond? Well...sort of...
Fish do best with lots of minerals in the pond water. Most experts add a special kind of clay because it helps with so many factors. It helps improve water quality and clarity since it aids the beneficial bacteria. It is very helpful to the Pond Fish digestive system, enhances darker colors and it even helps your plants look their best if a tablespoon or so is added to the pot when repotting.
Not all clays are the same. Some, lower grades, are full of impurities and toxins. PondMarket carries only the finest: Montmorillinite Koi Clay . Try some in your Pond and be amazed at the difference it makes.
