Stop! Wrestling with Pond Nets...Now in the South...Fun (Pond) Fact
|
 |
We all know the absolute necessity to
cover the Pond with a net
in all regions in which leaves are falling now (decomposing leaves contaminate the water, change water chemistry, harbor toxic bacteria, etc etc) ...but it is not a pleasant chore. The nets are difficult to spread out and to fasten securely. The alternative is to build a (most of the time wobbly) pvc frame, but the contraption generally does not survive past one or two years!
|
Wouldn't it be nice to
PoP open the Net - LIKE AN UMBRELLA
and Voila! You are done!
No collapsing of the net into the pond,
no leaves disintrigrating into the water and
EASILY RE-USABLE every Year!!

Koi south of Mason Dixon could qualify for the title "Mouth of the South" right now. They are
HUNGRY
! This is the perfect weather and water temperature for their digestive system and body temperature to
optimize nutrients
(between 68 and 80 degrees). Not too hot and not too cold, our wet friends in the south are ready for food! This is a good time to keep the food in a close,
confined area
and inspect each fish for
parasites, fungi and other problems
.

Fun (Pond) Fact
(TM)
Three days after a Koi spawn fertile eggs can usually be distinguished from infertile eggs:
Fertile eggs will be clear,
while the infertile ones will take on a cloudy appearance.
