We keep harping on this subject...because lack of oxygen is the # 1 Pond Fish killer in the Winter. Most of the country still enjoys (relatively) decent weather and temperatures. It behooves us to get things done now, so we do not have to frantically try to get things done in blistering cold and blinding snow.
Decomposing organic matter (leaves, fish poop, etc) take oxygen out of the Pond. Combine that with a frozen surface and there is a recipe for disaster.
