Note: It is strongly recommended to use a primer-pot and check-valve assembly when using the pump out of the pond. The primer pot allows easy priming of the pump and keeps the pump from clogging. The check-valve keeps water in the priming pot and intake water line so that if power is lost, the pump will not lose its prime and burn up. Clog-free screens are strongly recommended to use with the pumps when the pump is used in the pond. This will keep the pump from clogging and will prevent the impeller from being damaged.
