Important first Fall Preparations for your Pond:
Water Quatlity is often overlooked in Ponds, especially if the Pond Water looks nice and clear. Crystal clear water can hide all sorts of problems, though. It is very important to check the pH as well as Ammonia and Nitrite while the water temperature is still warm enough to make changes easily without shocking the fish.
Pond Water can look great and be sparkling clean and still hide those poisons which can kill your Pond Fish in a jiffy during the winter!
Finding problems now while Beneficial Bacteria can still easily multiply will prevent problems during the very cold months. Keeping some Koi TLC on hand lets the Pond Owner deal with emergencies if problems do develop during very cold weather.
