KOI AND GOLDFISH - A GOOD MATCH?
We are often asked if Koi and Goldfish get along in the pond.
Yes, indeed, they do! Both are of the Carp family, and they
"play rather nicely together" :)
They will even interbreed, which can be a problem for the
serious Koi enthusiast. Fry which are half Goldfish and half
Koi may turn out rather ugly, too.
If breeding pure Koi is important in the pond, Goldfish and Koi should not be kept together. If, on the other hand, the fish are kept purely for enjoyment then there is no problem. Next |
