This product ships in 1lb bags and a media bag is included. Upon receipt of the product:
YOU MUST REMOVE THE CARBON FROM THE PLASTIC BAG AND PLACE IT INSIDE THE MEDIA BAG. It is recommended to rinse the carbon dust off the carbon before placing the carbon in the bag.
For best results, locate the carbon in an area where water will actively flow through it; i.e. pond skimmer, pond filter, in waterfall, etcd.
Each bag treats up to 1,000 gallons for approx. 6 weeks.
