Is it OK for concrete blocks to hold a water feature?

Question:

A friend of mine had a new pond built and in the centre concrete blocks were stacked on top of each other to hold a water feature. I am sure this is not a good idea as they are not sealed or painted. Can you give me any feed back please

Answer:

Concrete blocks are fine. We use them in similar applications and they are made to handle different elements(heat, cold, ect….) filteration will handle everything else.
