When adding fish, do I need a pump/filter?

good morning, I have recently acquired a pre- formed pond, which contains 300 gallons. I would like it to contain some goldfish, and aquatic plants. Is a pump alone enough or do I need a filter as well? Could you recommend what is best to keep a clean, healthy environment. Thanks for your time. Great site. Dennis
