Winterizing Koi pond
Question:
Will this hurt my koi? I winterized my 2000gl pond today. I removed my pump from the skimmer box and made a turn down from PVC to connect to it. I then placed the pump in the center of my pond so it makes a splash thus keeping a hole in the ice and providing oxygen. The splash is rather large and Im concerned this could disturb my fish when they are dormant.

Your fish will be fine with the water disturbance (We assume that there are some indisturbed areas in the pond), but you may want to move the pump about a foot of so off the pond bottom to leave the lower layer of water undisturbed.
